Join us as we take a musical journey across America - from Maine to the prairies, with a swing down south as well. We will march, dance, and ride through some of the music from our diverse nation.

A few notes on some of the pieces that will be heard on the July 6th concert. The patriotic feeling continues with marches, medleys, and a piece that features one of the sections of the band as soloists.

Thoughts on the program for the July 3rd, 2011 concert.
By Natasha Proctor on Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Prior to each band concert this summer I hope to post a bit of the history around several of the pieces along with my thoughts on why I chose to include a particular piece or composer in keeping with the concert's theme.

Our first concert of the 2011 Summer Season will be held at the Bridgton Bandstand at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3rd. The concert's theme will be a "Patriotic Medlley" and will include selections such as "Cavalcade of American Songs", "Star Spangled Spectacular", "God Bless America", and "Stars and Stripes Forever March."

Prior to and during this concert there will be food available from several of our area non-profit organizations. Following the concert at about 9:15 p.m. will be Bridgtons Independence Eve fireworks display. So, come early to enjoy the food and find a perfect spot for your chair or blanket, bring the whole family, and stay late for the fireworks!
